April’s topic:

What is the latest on Medical Cannabis and how can it be used for those with pain and serious illness?

  • What should we believe about the latest CBD craze?
  • How does CBD/THC affect inflammation and pain.
  • How can cannabis be used in place of opiates and benzodiazepines?

Since 2014, Wendy Gibson, PTA/RN/BSN/ACNA has been an American Cannabis Nurses Association member, a medical cannabis patient advocate, a cannabis nurse educator and the Field Organizer for The Drug Policy Forum of Hawaii (The Medical Cannabis Coalition of Hawaii.)

She served on the HR48 Medical Cannabis Task Force (which helped shape HB321, the dispensary bill) and the ACT230 Medical Cannabis Dispensary Legislative Oversight Working Group’s Education Committee.

She helped bring the first medical cannabis CEU and CME courses to Hawaii and was a Co-Presenter at the CEU course for nurses. She has earned 28 CEU/CME credits in medical cannabis education and has educated over 250 health care professionals about the endocannabinoid system.
