PEACE: Promoting Engagement, Aloha, & Compassion in the Everyday Care of people facing serious illness

Join us to expand understanding and awareness of the unique contributions that social workers and spiritual care providers make in the interdisciplinary care of persons facing a serious illness. Ten monthly, one-hour sessions will be offered beginning in March thru December 2024 and will focus on the eight Domains of Palliative Care (NCHP Guidelines 4th ed.).

Sessions will be anchored in real cases and participants will gain specific knowledge and skills in each of the 8 domains. Training sessions will be presented by local, national, and international experts in the fields of social work and spiritual care.

Presenters and Curriculum

Presenters will include Terry Altilio, LCSW, Shirley Otis-Green, LCSW, Dr. Yvonne Yim, Dr. Lana Kaʻopua, Sara-May Colón, JP Sabbithi, Alan Gamble, LCSW and others. 

The first session was on Thursday, 3/28/24, hosted by Dr. Rae Seitz, CEO of Hui Pohala, Jodi Shaw, LSW, APHSW-C and Clarence Liu, Chaplain. Continuing Education credit and certificates of attendance will be provided at no cost for those who are eligible (see details below).
