Tripler Army Medical Center will observe National Healthcare Decisions Day

Tripler Army Medical Center will observe National Healthcare Decisions Day on 16 April in the Executive Dining Room at 10:30 am to 1:00pm. ‘Burma Shave’ type signs will be posted on the wall to help participants find the room. At the entrance, a large sheet of paper will be displayed for participants to write/draw what is on their ‘Bucket List’ and then afterwards, they will be asked if their family knows their wish.

Go Wish cards will be used for participants to reflect on what are the three most important things they would want provided if they were near the end of their lives. An Advance Directives table with blank forms will be provided to encourage those who do not have an AD or need one updated to start to work on that. POLST forms will be shown – NOT for people to do themselves, but to explain the purpose of POLST and why that is important for very ill outputs to have at home.
