ISPEC
is a national and international Train-the-Trainer program whose mission is to improve spiritual care for patients with serious and chronic illness. ISPEC’s goal is to train clinicians, spiritual care professionals and others in health settings to be able to recognize, address, and attend to the suffering of patients with serious and chronic illness and that of their families, and to help develop environments of care where patients may find their own capacity for healing and whole health.
Who should apply?
Clinicians from diverse professional backgrounds (MD, RN, NP, PA, Social work, Psychologists, PT/OT, etc.) paired with chaplains or spiritual care professionals.
Each of the clinician-chaplain teams can come from different clinical settings, including hospital, hospice, long term care, outpatient, etc. If you work in a setting where it it not possible to fit into the Clinician-Chaplain paring model and would like to participate as individual, please contact Dr. Najmeh Jafari, at jafari{at}gwu.edu.
