Here is the latest January 2026 update from Hui Pohala about the rescheduling:

Thank you to those who expressed an interest in our ESPEC Hawai‘i: Empowering Social Workers in Palliative Care training. We are postponing the in-person ESPEC training sessions from January to October 2026 to give everyone ample time to complete and fully benefit from the online training.
Here’s how we are accommodating your busy schedule:
- The 8-hour discounted online training will remain open through this link. Please use discount code ESPEC1HI2501 to receive the discounted rate. Completion of this online training is required prior to attending the in-person training by Dr. Myra Glajchen and Ms. Shirley Otis-Green.
- You will be able to receive mentoring by Dr. Myra Glajchen and Ms. Shirley Otis-Green after completing the online training.
- The first 50 people who complete the online training and submit proof of completion will qualify for reimbursement of the tuition from Hui Pohala. For more information, contact us at PEACE(at)huipohala.org.
- The one-day in-person training is now planned for October 2026. Final dates and locations will be shared at a future date.
- Registration & Refund Information: If you are already registered, your registration will automatically carry over to the new training dates—no action is needed. If the updated schedule no longer works for you, you may request a full refund. Refunds or registration questions can be directed to PEACE(at)huipohala.org.
We know you have very busy schedules and we appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we make these adjustments.
