Congratulations Linda! Our own Kōkua Mau and board of directors member Dr. Linda Axtell-Thompson was conferred in August 2013, the degree of Doctor of Bioethics with a concentration in Organizational Ethics from the Loyola Chicago University, Stritch School of Medicine, Neiswanger Institute for Bioethics.  This builds on her previous graduate degrees of Master of Arts in Bioethics (2003, Medical College of Wisconsin) and Master of Business Administration (nonprofit emphasis; 1987, Yale School of Management).

Loyola describes the degree as: "Our professional doctorate in bioethics (D.Bioethics) is a first of its kind and meets the growing need for advanced training in bioethics for those professionals that have increased responsibilities related to bioethics and health policy at their institution. Such individuals may serve as chair of a hospital’s ethics committee, perform clinical ethics consultations, have administrative oriented ethics work or are a steward for issues central to your institution’s mission and values."
