Please Join us to thank Hob Osterlund for her outstanding contributions throughout her career to our community\, and to her profession. \n\n\n\nWe are also honored and pleased to invite Kahu Makanihouolanaʻihale Tabura as our guest speaker. Kahu Makani will be sharing with us principles of health and healing from his knowledge and experience of traditional Hawaiian cultural practice. He will assist us to apply these Hawaiian principles to our shared human experience\, while also considering the culture and traditions of our own ancestry and life circumstances. \n\n\n\n\nPlease register\n\n\n\n\nRegistration is required before January 3\, 2025. It is highly recommended to please register early as seating is limited. DESCRIPTION:We’d like to invite you to our virtual and hybrid Palliative Pupus. January 2025 is on zoom ONLY \n\n\n\nThis month we’ll hear about a family in conflict over treatment goals and the instrumental role of palliative care chaplains in such situations\, including in engaging community faith leaders. \n\n\n\nOur exciting local bi-monthly networking and clinical education opportunity on zoom. Come participate in an interactive interdisciplinary story from the cutting edge of hospice and palliative care and mingle with colleagues from all over the islands on zoom. If you are involved with palliative care cases\, you are invited. Please tell your colleagues and friends.  \n\n\n\nWe will continue to meet virtually on zoom in 2025. Every second meeting we also meet in person at the QCC\, offering a hybrid format\, to include neighbor islands and others on zoom. If you join us at the hybrid in person meetings you will enjoy actual pupus. \n\n\n\nHow does Palliative Pupus work?\n\n\n\nThe theme and presenters for each ‘Palliative Pupus’ is announced one to two weeks prior to the meeting date via our Kōkua Mau eNewsletter. If you are not receiving our eNewsletter yet\, please subscribe here and we will keep you informed. \n\n\n\nWhat is Palliative Pupus?\n\n\n\nOur first successful Palliative Pupus meeting was held November 17\, 2010 and has since become a bi-monthly event every third Wednesday of the month. (Except November due to Thanksgiving) \n\n\n\nThe model is an informal\, interactive\, collegial\, pau hana to present and discuss challenging cases as a group.  Palliative Pupus is for clinicians in a variety of fields: doctors\, nurses\, social workers\, chaplains. \n\n\n\nQueen’s Conference Center for Palliative Pupus. \n\n\n\nThe Queens Conference Center (QCC) – Room 200510 S.
