DESCRIPTION:Kōkua Mau Virtual Monthly Meeting – Last one of 2020 \n\n\n\nThur Dec. 33-5 PM \n\n\n\nWe will be sharing a Keynote address from Dr. Ira Byock at the recent national CTAC meeting. Dr. Byock\, who has spoken in Hawai‘i for many years\, made an excellent presentation about the crises in which we currently find ourselves and the changes that must come to address equity\, health disparities and the need for all health workers to get a living wage.  \n\n\n\nFollowing this excellent presentation\, there will some other short videos from various national leaders at the C-TAC meeting that is a national coalition to improve care for those with serious illness. \n\n\n\nThen we will give some updates on palliative care in Hawai‘i and how you can get involved\, bereavement in the holidays and other activities. Additionally\, there will be a chance for small breakout rooms to discuss with colleagues for this last meeting of the year.  \n\n\n\nRegister in advance for our monthly meeting. That is why the 2021 Virtual Conference is focusing on transformation. \n\n\n\nJuly 29\, 20217:00 am to 11:30 AM HST. (The room is available 6:30am to 12:30pm.) \n\n\n\nOur world is reshaping before our eyes \n\n\n\nHow do we rework the system?How do we measure success?What innovations will remain?How do we bridge the divide between administration and clinical?How do we address workforce issues?How do we improve the patient and family experience?How do we continue to connect to purpose?\n\n\n\nVisit NHPCO’s dedicated webpages for speakers and the agenda. \n\n\n\nWe meet first thing in the morning on July 29 at Chaminade University – socially distanced of course. The room can seat up to 50 people safely\, so please register early. Since this will be a rare opportunity for us to meet each other\, we can use the room for an additional hour after the conference to talk story.  \n\n\n\nRegistration open now for 50 participants\n\n\n\nWe offered a discount for Kōkua Mau members.
