Dia De Los Muertos Family Event

Please join us on Saturday Nov. 2 for a Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration.

This is an interactive fun family event that all are welcome to attend. We will have several art projects, including making an ofrenda and decorating skull cookies. There will be examples of ofrendas, good Mexican food and great music. Everyone is invited to participate in this celebration.

If you would like to join our planning committee, volunteer on the day or have items to share, please contact Jeannette.

Sat. Nov. 2
10am- 2pm
Church of the Crossroads
1212 University Ave Honolulu, HI 96826

Please RSVP, to ensure we have enough supplies.

Background: The holiday involves family and friends gathering to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died, and helping support their spiritual journey. In Mexican culture, death is viewed as a natural part of the human cycle. Mexicans view it not as a day of sadness but as a day of celebration because their loved ones awake and celebrate with them.

If this is new to you, you can watch the movie Coco to get up to speed! Or go on line and google Dia De Los Muertos.
