This is a recording of JABSOM’s Feb 2\, 2019 workshop End-of-Life Care Options in Hawaii: Critical Communications with Seriously Ill Patients & Families.  This is a recording of the entire 4-hour workshop and can be watched in segments over time. \nCourse Director: Lee Buenconsejo-Lum\, MD \nTarget Audience: Physicians\, APRNs\, nurses\, psychologists\, licensed clinical social workers and pharmacists. The purpose of this workshop is to help health providers comply with requirements of the law and to provide an immediate\, skillful and compassionate response to any patient inquiries they may receive. The workshop will address person-centered care and end-of- life discussions as recommended by the American Medical Association\, American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine\, American College of Physicians and other specialty societies. \nObjectives\nAs a result of participating in this workshop\, participants will be able to: \n\nDescribe critical components of Hawaii Law Act 002 (2018)\, the “Our Care\, Our Choice Act”\, including certification requirements by health providers.\nConduct conversations that thoughtfully and compassionately explore end-of-life concerns\, goals and options with people who have serious illness.\nAccess resources and information related to end-of-life care options\, including resources specific to Act 002 implementation.\n\nWho Should Attend\nThis workshop is directed to physicians\, advanced practice nurse\, nurses\, psychologists\, licensed clinical social workers and pharmacists within The Queen’s Health System\, with emphasis on those who care for patients with serious chronic conditions. \nGuest Faculty: Anthony L.
