Hawaii Telehealth Summit:

October 12, 2017 - October 13, 2017

Hawaii’s first Telehealth Summit is scheduled for:

Oct. 12 and 13
Pomaika’i Ballrooms in Dole Cannery Square
Honolulu

The registration deadline has been extended to October 6.

The Summit is coordinated by the state Department of Health and the University of Hawaii, and is designed to build awareness, create momentum, and chart a path for increased adoption of telehealth usage in the Hawaii.

According to findings from the Hawaii Physician Workforce Assessment Project’s 2017 report to the Legislature, only 15 percent of physicians in Hawaii report participating in telehealth.

State officials are hoping that Hawaii can do better in using telehealth to improve access to care, especially for neighbor island and rural residents.

U.S. Senator Brian Schatz and Governor David Ige will attend on October 13 to set the stage for informative panel discussions, technology demonstrations, and facilitated activities toward establishing a statewide telehealth strategic plan.

The pre-conference event on Thursday, October 12th, is technology-focused, and the conference itself on Friday, October 13th, emphasizes planning and policy.

The Summit is free of charge and comes with continental breakfast and lunch. To RSVP, please click here.
